Comic Book Consideration: Marvel's New Avengers Annual # 1

         Hello and welcome to another issue of Comic Book Consideration. This week we turn to Marvel and New Avengers Annual # 1.

First issue Bust?: New Warriors #1

        New Warriors is an interesting choice for marvel to bring back as a new monthly series. The name is somewhat tainted and no a respected one due to past history. In the past the New Warriors of old blew up a town killing a lot of people which helped to lead to the Marvel Civil War and its problems until the Heroic age.

Nova #11

       The comic starts in Carefree, Arizona. At the office of Dr. Kettlewell. Sam yells. AN OPTICAL MIGRAINE?! Oh my god, I'm dying! The doctor at this says. You're NOT dying, Sam. Sam at this says. What about the LIGHTS I've been seeing? Dying people see lights. How can you be sure they've not "DYING LIGHTS"? The doctor at this says. An "OPTICAL MIGRAINE" May or may not be accompanied by the traditional pain associated with a migraine headache... But it will go away. Your temporary blindness is just that. TEMPORARY. His mom at this says. OH, THANK GOD! The doctor adds. What's CHANGED for you? Have you had any more stress in your life? Sam at this says. Well, my Dad was the school janitor, and the bullies liked to REMIND me of that. But now he's not the janitor anyomore... The doctor at this says. I see. Than adds. Well, that ought to be a help. Sam at this says. HE RAN OUT ON US. The doctor to this says. OKEYDOKEY, Let's say stress is a CONTRIBUTING FACTOR. I see you had a serious CONCUSSION recently. Have you taken any other shots to the head AFTER you were hospitalized? Sam at this says. HMMM.... His mom adds. Well...

Nova # 10

        The comic starts with a flashback and Sam thinking. Okay, so this happens.... DOCTOR DOOM'S gotten his hans on Thor's hammer, which has a name that I can pronounce but whatever. And he's just FEEDING it to the Avengers. And the X-Men. All the heroes, actually. And what are they going to do about it? It's a magical hammer and there's nothing on Earth that can stop it. NOTHING ON EARTH. I hope you were paying attention to that part. Because little do they knew that I've been up to see the watcher. And he's sent me to see the SILVER SURFER with a note that says I'm a pretty cool guy and he can trust me with his stuff.

Nova # 9

       The comic starts showing a picture of the mailbox of sam's home and a voice yelling. SAM! It seems that Sam was driving the truck and hit the mailbox. Robbie at this says. I thought you said you knew how to drive! Dam at this says. I do! Vance chimes in and adds. That is provably false. He than adds. We should have known when you said you'd "always" wanted to" an '92 Toyota pickup. Let me guess. You don't even have a driver's licence.... Robbie adds. What's that smell? Did you leave the e-break on?! Sam to this says. I don't know what an E-brake is, How could I leave it on--?! Suddenly, he says. Wait, I smell it too....

Nova # 8

         The comic starts at Lunar orbit +- 500 miles. At Thanos Arrival. A voice on a ship says. The details of Earth's SUBJUGATION are beneath my concern, Corrus Glaive.

Nova # 7

           the comic starts in New York City with Sam on top of the statue of Liberty  and talking. Well, giant liberty dude. THIS IS IT. New York City. The crime capital of the world. Probably. I can't believe mom wanted me to stay in Arizona and clean up CAREFREE... This place needs NOVA. I can SMELL it. Suddenly, a light flashes on him and a voice says. PUT YOUR HANDS WHERE WE CAN SEE THEM! Sam can only say. --what'?!

Nova #6

       The comics starts one to several months after the last issue and likely one month after the events of Avengers vs X-men. Sam now flying home is talking to himself and says. Mom, remember how you always wished I took more interest in church? Well, I did you one better, I struck up a personal relationship with a god. His name is Thor. He asked me to join the Avengers, And I'd love to say no, but It'd kind of be against my religion.. Which is knowing Thor.

Nova # 5

          The comic starts at Sam Alexander's house in Carefree Arizona and time is up. Sam talking says. I'm warning you, TITUS. Don't take ANOTHER step. Titus to this standing at full height says. What would you do, SPROUT? TALK me to death? Your FATHER liked to talk as well. Not anymore. You will turn over THE ULTIMATE NULLIFIER-- From the corner of his eyes Sam sees his skateboard and starts to hit it with his foot as Titus says. And I will consider NOT destroying you and-- With a TOK the skateboard causes the Helmet to fly from Titus hand and he says. No. Sam to this says. YES! grabs the helmet and puts it on saying. MY turn.

Nova # 4

          The comic starts in Deep Space near Jupiter four seconds after the end of the last issue. Sam appears to be dead. A voice in a ship nearing him says. Do what you want with the body- But I want the helmet intact. A alien says as it nears the body. It looks dead. It looks like a WHELP, Why is there any reason to fear this one? Suddenly, Sam says. Suckers.

Nova # 3

      The comic starts on the moon three seconds after the end of issue 2. Sam to the Watcher says. Uh. Hello? Then adds. Misterr... man in the moon.. Man? He. On a day of freaky stuff you're NOT QUITE the freakiest but I want you to know that I didn't mean to bump into your boot. Foot. You. He then adds. Do you speak English? Do you speak? SAY SOMETHING. The Watcher says nothing but does point into a distance in space.

Nova # 2

      The Comic starts at Carefree Hospital, Carefree Arizona. Two seconds after the end of the first issue. Sam seeing his dad helmet says. THAT. That's my dad's helmet thing. Gamora the green lady says. WAS. Was your father's helmet. Rocket Raccoon adds. It's why we call all the way here, KID. Sam to this says. What're you saying. WAIT. How are you--? WHAT are you--? A TALKING RACCOON?! Rocket to this annoyed says. WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME?! Sam grabbing a pillow to toss at him says. THIS CAN'T BE REAL!

Nova # 1

        The Comic starts in space where a voice talking about a flashback says. SAM, did I.. Did I ever tell you the one about-- Another voice in answer says. Dad, Maybe now isn't the best time...
